Deliverables

1. To develop and validate an uncertainty minimised DMT

  • To develop a protocol for the estimation of uncertainty suitable for use with a range of existing commercially available field tools using balanced design principles.

  • To develop an optimised DMT for more accurate site investigation and remediation minimising the uncertainty of on-site measurements

2. To develop an OUMCI field analytical tool

  • To develop a specific and sensitive chemiluminescence immunoassay PAH detection system

  • To assess the specificity and sensitivity of the chemiluminescence system

  • To develop a microfluidic system that minimises operator error

  • To integrate the immunoassay system and microfluidics into the ROTAS system

  • To validate the integrated immunoassay ROTAS system using laboratory assessment

3. Completion and cost based statistical analysis of field trials

  • To perform field trials using uncertainty estimation DMT with existing field analytical tools

  • To perform field trials using on-site OUMCI DMT system

  • To statistically validate on-site measurements in field trials using existing field analytical tools and novel OUMCI tools and perform cost-benefit analysis comparison of field analytical techniques

4. Dissemination

  • To exploit the scientific and technical outcomes and accelerate transfer of knowledge by working with CL:AIRE to produce technical bulletins/reports and collaborate with the Field Analytical supplier Association (FASA) who will conduct workshops for senior industry figures
