Overall Goals

  • To develop and validate a novel Decision Management Tool (DMT) that can effectively quantify and minimise the uncertainty that is associated with using field analytical tools, taking into account sampling and analytical method errors. The DMT will apply this uncertainty to the interpretation of the results in order to establish whether an effective decision can be made

  •

  • To develop a next generation Optimised Uncertainty Minimised Chemiluminescent Immunoassay (OUMCI) tool for the specific identification and sensitive quantification of primary risk-driving priority contaminants such a Benzo(a)pyrene. The OUMCI tool will be effectively automated using microfluidics to minimise end-user manipulation

  •

  • To perform validation field trials of uncertainty estimation DMT and the combined DMT OUMCI system by comparison with existing Field Analytical Tools (FATs)

  •

  • To exploit and disseminate the scientific and technical outcomes of the project to the different main actors of the contaminated land sector
